The  King
And  His  Kingdom

Hebrews 1:8

But unto the Son he saith,

Thy throne, O God,

is for ever and ever:

a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

God's  Plan  Is  Set

All good books have a theme.  The main theme of the Bible, the best book and the only one of its kind, is The King And His Kingdom.

Without understanding the main theme of the Bible, you cannot possibly understand the details.  There is eternity and there is God’s plan for eternity.  The theme of the Holy Bible is God’s message to man about this plan.

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

God has determined that all of his creation is his kingdom and he has determined that Jesus Christ will be the king.  He has also determined that you have an eternal life, but you can choose what kind of life that will be.  You can be separated from God in a place of torment, or you can be in his presence.  In his presence can be simply living in the same area, or it can be ruling over vast domains with Him forever.

It matters not what you think or believe, God’s plan is going to happen.  He has declared it and it shall “spring forth” (Isaiah 42:9).  You just have to decide where you want to fit in.

Isaiah 43:10

..... before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

The  Big  Picture

Following is a description of the big picture to you in a few paragraphs.  Following salvation, this is what you need to know in order to truly love, appreciate, and serve the Lord.  It is also what you need to know about obtaining eternal rewards that the Lord will be pleased to give you.  The probability that your preacher, and therefore you, accurately understand this Biblical explanation is miniscule.

First of all, your preacher’s seminary or Bible school almost assuredly did not emphasize it or understand it.  Second of all, your preacher may be more worried about the details of his everyday life than the details of your afterlife.  Therefore he over-preaches about everyday life and tries to be a model for you to follow.  Third of all, your preacher likely does not study all the counsel of God.

Acts 20:27

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

If not, he cannot preach all the counsel of God to you.  And he probably doesn’t understand II Timothy 2:15 either (partly because he has a “bible” that does not have the word “study” in it)!

If your preacher knows and preaches about the king and his kingdom, you have a great preacher who properly reverences the pulpit of God.  If he doesn’t know and preach this, to some degree you have just another preacher in just another pulpit asking for money and making promises he can’t keep.

The  Word  Of  The  Kingdom

Matthew 13:19

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The “WORD OF THE KINGDOM” is literally the main theme of the Bible.  It is about the “kingdom of heaven” as Jesus called it or the “everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” as Peter called it.

I hope this simple explanation will allow you to basically understand it and disallow the wicked one (Satan) to catch it away from you.

If you are unaware of this foundational truth, you may be inclined to turn it off in the first paragraph as being unfamiliar nonsense.  I plead with you to stick with it and study the referenced scriptures.  It will make perfect Godly sense to a spiritual person quickly because each step is Biblical.  There are no man-made theories or private interpretations involved.  It goes like this:

Genesis  1:1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

This beginning happened at some point in the past unknown by man.  It could have been any number of eons ago because God is from everlasting and He inhabits eternity.

Psalm 90:2

..... even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Isaiah 57:15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; .....

Prior to restoration of the earth

(and maybe before creation of the earth),

He created the hosts of heaven.

This included millions of angels

Revelation 5:11

..... and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

and five cherubs.

Ezekiel 10:10-12

And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, ..... even the wheels that they four had.

4 + 1 = 5

Ezekiel 28:14

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth;

and I have set thee so:

Some of the angels were given dominion over all the places in God’s kingdom.

Psalm 103:19-20

The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens;

and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Bless the Lord, ye his  angels, that excel in strength,

that do his commandments,

hearkening unto the voice of his word.

One of the five cherubs was named Lucifer

and he was perfect in beauty.

Ezekiel 28: 12-15

..... Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. .....

every precious stone was thy covering, .....

Thou  wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created,

till iniquity was found in thee.

His anointed dominion is at least the earth,

Matthew 4:8-9

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain,

and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world,

and the glory of them; and saith unto him,

All these things will I give thee,

if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

2 Corinthians 4:4

in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,

lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,

who is the image of God,

should shine unto them.

but he sinned and exalted himself

to be like the most High.

Isaiah 14:13-14

For thou hast said in thine heart,

I will ascend into heaven,

I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:

I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,

in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will be like the most High.

Ezekiel 28:15

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created,

till iniquity was found in thee.

God then declared that he would be cast down,

Isaiah 14:15-17

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell,

to the sides of the pit.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,

and consider thee, saying,

Is this the man that made the earth to tremble,

that did shake kingdoms;

that made the world as a wilderness,

and destroyed the cities thereof;

that opened not the house of his prisoners?

See also Ezekiel 28:16-19.

and a long war began.

Genesis 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void;

and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

There then existed a ruined earth

(without form, and void)

due to the sin of its ruler and it had to be redeemed as part of God's eternal plan.

So God overflowed earth #1 by water,

2 Peter 3:5-7

For this they willingly are ignorant of,

that by the word of God the heavens were of old,

and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

whereby the world that then was,

being overflowed with water, perished:

but the heavens and the earth, which are now,

by the same word are kept in store,

reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Isaiah 24:1

Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty,
and maketh it waste,
and turneth it upside down,
and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Genesis 1-3

and restored it.

This is the restored earth that we live on today.

He then created a new sinless king – Adam, and his mate to rule with him – Eve.  They were to “replenish” earth #2 with a population of perfect, sinless beings like themselves to rule the kingdom for God.

Genesis 1:26-28

And God said,

Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

and let them have dominion ..... over all the earth, .....

And God blessed them, and God said unto them,

Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,

and subdue it:

and have dominion over .....

every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Lucifer does not want to give up the kingdom, so he deceives Eve.  Adam then sins with her because he cannot be a king without a queen and he loves her enough to die with her.

Genesis 3:6

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

and that it was pleasant to the eyes,

and a tree to be desired to make one wise,

she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat,

and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Lucifer remains in charge.

God must now enact a plan of redemption so Satan can be dethroned and righteous men can eventually rule.  The shedding of animal blood temporarily satisfies God.

Genesis 3:21

Unto Adam also and to his wife

did the Lord God make coats of skins,

and clothed them.

Hebrews 9:22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood;

and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Israel, Israel !

Man can be justified by confession of sin and shedding of the blood of sacrificed animals (especially lambs).

God calls Noah, he obeys and survives the flood, but he sins afterward.

God calls Abraham and creates the nation of Israel, through whom all the nations of the earth are to be physically ruled and spiritually blessed.  They sin, wind up in Egypt, and God calls Moses.

Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt, but they refuse to take over the Promised Land and wander away from God.

Joshua eventually leads new Israelites into the Promised Land and they flourish.  They have good kings and bad kings; they follow God and turn away from God.

Finally, Israel formally rejects God the father, the first part of the triune godhead, and elects its own kings - Strike 1 !

1 Samuel 8:6-7

But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said,

Give us a king to judge us.

And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.

And the Lord said unto Samuel,

Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee:

for they have not rejected thee,

but they have rejected me,

that I should not reign over them.

A few hundred years later, Jesus Christ comes to earth as the only begotten son of God, the second part of the triune godhead, and re-offers the kingdom to Israel.

Matthew 15:24

But he answered and said,

I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But the Jewish scribes and Pharisees do not want to give up their authority.  They convince the Jews to convince the Romans to crucify the Lamb of God Strike 2 !

John 19:15

But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him.

Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King?

The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cæsar.

However, this holy slain lamb satisfied God’s requirement for shed blood forever (that’s good for you).

Following the resurrection and ascension of Christ, the Holy Spirit as the third part of the triune godhead comes to dwell.  The kingdom is re-offered to Israel through Stephen in Acts 7 and the apostles throughout Acts, a period of about 30 years.  Gentiles are also offered to share in the kingdom with Israel through the preaching of Paul (your apostle, Acts 9-28).  But Israel kills Stephen and makes a final rejection in Acts 28:28 - Strike 3 !

Acts 7:51

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears,

ye do always resist the Holy Ghost:

as your fathers did, so do ye.

Acts 28:28

Be it known therefore unto you,

that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles,

and that they will hear it.

Israel is temporarily set aside by God so the kingdom can be offered to a new creation.  This new creation is the body of Christ composed of all those who believe in the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, Gentiles and Jews alike.

I Corinthians 15:2-4

by which also ye are saved,

if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,

unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

and that he was buried,

and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

This body will provide the people that will reign over the heavens with Christ (his bride, like Eve).

Sometime soon, very soon on some glad morning, these people (me & hopefully you) will not be bound by gravity any longer.  We will be “raptured” away to heaven #3 in a glorified body by Christ himself.

I Thessalonians 4:16-17

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,

with the voice of the archangel,

and with the trump of God:

and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,

to meet the Lord in the air:

and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The earth will soon thereafter be taken over by Antichrist who will eventually persecute Jews to a point worse than the holocaust. They will then have nowhere to turn except back to God.  He will hear the remnant and send the King of Kings and Lord of Lords back to earth to rescue them.

Revelation 19:11,16

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse;

and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,

and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.....

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,

KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Satan will be bound for a thousand years.

Revelation 20:2

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent,

which is the Devil, and Satan,

and bound him a thousand years,

Christ will rule the earth for a thousand years through Israel and the bride of Christ.

Revelation 20:4-6

and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:

on such the second death hath no power,

but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,

and shall reign with him a thousand years.

At the end of the Millennium,

Satan is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

Revelation 20:10

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,

where the beast and the false prophet are,

and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Then the “day of God” (eternity) will begin with new heavens and a new earth (earth #3 ).

II Peter 3:12-13

looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,

wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved,

and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise,

look for new heavens and a new earth,

wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Christ will rule the earth through David and Israel.  He will rule the heavens through his bride forever and ever thereafter from the throne of God and of the Lamb in the new Jerusalem.

Revelation 22:3

And there shall be no more curse:

but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it;

and his servants shall serve him:

And that is what the Bible is all about.  Everything in the Bible is related to this theme.  As you study the Bible, remember the king and his kingdom and it will make sense.

The Bible is not just a bunch of disconnected stories and daily devotionals.  It is a history of the universe, from everlasting to everlasting, and every word is eternally connected to this history.

Psalm 119:89

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

Now, there are bookstores and websites full of books written by “psychologists of the cloth” about worldly matters that they deem to be spiritual matters.

Colossians 2:8

Beware lest any man spoil you

through philosophy and vain deceit,

after the tradition of men,

after the rudiments of the world,

and not after Christ.

But there are only a few books by a few authors written about the main theme of the Bible – the word of the kingdom.

Not that all spiritual books should be exclusively about the kingdom, but they should all be about the king.  And they should at least include the importance of looking forward to the kingdom.

Everything a saved person does today will affect his/her position in The Kingdom:

Everything!

We, us, you, them, everybody has flesh and emotions to satisfy.  So we read highly-publicized books about our flesh and emotions written by these psychologists of the cloth.  They have supposedly mastered their own flesh and emotions to a point that they are now qualified to accept money from you for explaining some things.

Listen, nothing will help you more than understanding eternity.  And nothing will help you less than focusing entirely on the desires of your flesh today.

Once you grasp the word of the kingdom, today’s problems can be put into a properly balanced perspective and successfully dealt with.  The word of the kingdom is about His glory and honour and power and pleasure, not your psychologist’s.

Revelation 4:11

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Why is this message so neglected?

Jesus prophesied:

Matthew 13:33

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

As prophesied, the message from Jesus’ day to this day has been in a leavening process by Satan.  The message has been leavened (a process that produces an altering or transforming influence) to the point that it is not taught, preached, discussed, or even known about by virtually all Christians.

Get saved and get schooled up on the king and his kingdom!  Everything else is just gravy.
