Welcome to a series of easy-to-understand studies of Holy Bible verses that directly affect you now and in your eternal life.

Understanding the basic Christian doctrines and the timeline of future events will strengthen your love of God and spark you to pray for the souls of your loved ones and others.

Following are some common sense conclusions about spiritual things:

First, please understand that a man or a church is not the authority - the Holy Bible is THE true authority on all matters of faith and practice, and doctrinal truths are grounded in Bible verses applied in the correct context.  Sound doctrine is not based on what most "authorities" say the Bible says, but is based on what the Bible actually says.  If you have "learned" only by listening to "authorities", instead of reading & studying & verifying, you are probably about to be shocked.

Critically important advice given to me and intended to be passed along - Do not ever blindly believe what any person says or writes about spiritual things.  Always verify it with the Holy Bible first!

Matthew 24:4

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Also, do not expect to understand the spiritual Bible without the quickened, living spirit of God in you.  It won’t happen.

I Corinthians 2:11

For what man knoweth the things of a man,

save the spirit of man which is in him?

even so the things of God knoweth no man,

but the Spirit of God.

By believing and accepting the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (God manifest in the flesh), anyone can become a Christian and receive eternal salvation direct from Almighty God,

I Corinthians 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren,

I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,

which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved,

if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,

unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried,

and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

and then have the Holy Spirit guide and teach them.

John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

Preachers

I like preachers; some of my dearest friends are preachers.  I like hanging out with a preacher.  He will talk about spiritual things without changing the subject.  He can be your greatest ally, supporter, mentor, and friend (next to Jesus, of course).

John 15:13

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

He can love you enough to learn and tell you the truth that enlightens your path to eternity.  But, a preacher should also learn and teach all the counsel of God, including the “word of the kingdom”, to his flock.

Unfortunately, knowledge and teachings about the "kingdom of heaven" vary widely among even Christian leaders.  Doctrinal teachings are generally considered to be divisive, so today's teaching and preaching tend to be smooth messages about current life and salvation.  This will not upset those who consistently bring in the tithes and offerings which pay the light bill and keep the preacher employed.

The "word of the kingdom" doctrine is about your eternal life!  Not just that it is available to you, but what it will be like and what you can do now to enhance your eternal state.  The "word of the kingdom" doctrine is the key to unlocking many eternal truths and being able to "rightly divide the word of truth".  And the devil does not want you to know about any of this.

Matthew 13:19

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.

Now, I am not yet talking about the grievous, ravening wolves that mislead millions on the simple plan of salvation.

I am now talking about the honest, hard-working preacher who will gladly guide you to salvation, preach sermons every week, baptize you, marry you, visit you in the hospital, conduct your funeral, and counsel you on living the Christian life (all of which are great things), but not much about the doctrines of eternal life.

You are responsible to the Lord yourself for your own testimony and your own faith and your own level of knowledge.  But your spiritual leader is responsible to the Lord for what he preaches and teaches to you.  And since almost all “Christians” do not study the Holy Bible for themselves, and he knows this, his pulpit responsibilities are heightened beyond man’s imagination.

Luke 12:48

... For unto whomsoever much is given,

of him shall be much required ...

If he steps into God’s pulpit unprepared to teach eternal things beyond salvation every now and then, he is not teaching and preaching all the counsel of God which he has been commanded to do.  As Paul wrote,

Acts 20:26-28

26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Lucifer wants preachers and you to be ignorant of God’s plan for eternity, and therefore complacent and quiet about it.  He knows the Bible verses himself and is quite concerned about their truth.  So, it is time for all to wake up (for the days are short).

Spiritual  Liars  and  Murderers

Now, a "preacher" that misleads you on the simple plan of salvation is a spiritual liar and murderer, like his spiritual father (in the words of Jesus of course).

John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

He will deceive you.  He cannot correctly explain simple child-like salvation by rightly divided Bible verses, so he automatically cannot explain the “word of the kingdom”.  Even his educated guesses are pathetic.  Jesus spotted him and warned him.  If he reads this and the shoe fits, I pray he will wear it.  But we have no reason to believe that he will.

Matthew 23:13

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

The  Verses  Are  For  You !

You, however, have zero excuse for being one of the misled millions.  You are responsible for your own relationship with God through Jesus Christ on your own spiritual foundation.  Your foundation is to be established by following the Holy Bible's own study instructions.

II Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God,

a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth.

You are not to lend your itching ears to good words and fair speeches of people who do not know what they are talking about.  Their motives are at best questionable.

Romans 16:18

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

This site can be your own personal wake-up call.  I had mine, thank God, and am compelled to move the knowledge forward.  When I appear at the judgment seat of Christ, I can say, “Yes, Lord, I told ‘em.”

II Corinthians 5:10

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;

that every one may receive the things done in his body,

according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Note:

The judgment seat of Christ is about rewards for saved believers;

it is not about salvation.
