3  Beliefs

In all the minds of all humanity anywhere on this earth, there are only three basic spiritual beliefs.  Everyone fits in somewhere, so where are you?

Warning:  Critics will say this page is oversimplified.  It is not; it just does not give them room to make income by privately interpreting wrongly divided words of truth.

First, atheism states that there is no living god; all things are the result of random chance events and nobody knows what is going to happen next.

Psalm 14:1

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.

BTW, what does an atheist parachutist say when his parachute doesn’t open?  Answer – OMG!

SO, this atheist with a brain the size of a grapefruit, or maybe a cantaloupe, stands on the earth and looks out into a universe with at least a 14 billion light year radius and claims to know that it was not created by some force smarter than his own glorious self.  This theory-driven pride is the ultimate arrogance.

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light, and create darkness:

I make peace, and create evil:

I the LORD do all these things.

Second, salvation by works states that there is a living god or gods.  He/She/It/They watch us, and we can obtain favor (salvation) from this god or these gods.

We just have to acknowledge this god or these gods and perform good works throughout our lifetime (like getting baptized and joining your mama’s church, donating to charities, paying your bills, taking care of your parents, being faithful to your spouse, helping the poor, attending PTA meetings, serving Thanksgiving lunch at the rescue shelter, meditating on the meaning of life, donating Christmas toys to the Salvation Army, $owing $eed$ of faith, tithing, etc.).

Then we go to heaven, wherever and whatever that is, and maybe get a harp and a halo and sing hymns on a cloud.  “Kingdom, what kingdom?  Oh yeah, I heard that mentioned in the Lord’s prayer.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith;

and that not of yourselves:

it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Note:  “not of works” = “not of works”, N-O-T not, one of the 200 basic sight words taught to 1st and 2nd graders, virtually all of whom are capable of understanding today’s gospel.

Salvation is of God, not you.

Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing,

and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;

and we all do fade as a leaf;

and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Third, salvation by the gospel of God states that Almighty God of the Holy Bible created all things and desires voluntary pleasurable fellowship with us sinful beings (Revelation 4:11).  He provided his own unblemished sacrificial lamb, the Lamb of God which is Christ Jesus, to bear the sins of mankind on his own old rugged cross at Calvary.

The Lamb is from everlasting and He is the only begotten son of God born of a virgin.  He lived a sinless life as a tempted man performing the will of God the Father.  He died in place of sinners, He was buried, and He rose again to eternal life the third day.

By believing and accepting the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (God manifest in the flesh), anyone can become a Christian and receive eternal salvation from Almighty God.  Eternal salvation means being eternally part of the body of Christ, always of Him and with Him.

I Corinthians 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren,

I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,

which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved,

if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,

unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried,

and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Mark 16:6

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted:

Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified:

he is risen; he is not here:

behold the place where they laid him.

That’s it – Door 1, Door 2, or Door 3.

If you want to go to heaven, trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If you want to go to hell, trust anything else – science, philosophy, religion, good works, baptism, wine & bread, church membership, golden plates, silver spoons, bronze statues, holy smoke, holy water, holy cows, someone else’s prayers, lying preachers, angels of light, path of whatever, etc.

One way to hell is as good as another.  Your soul will get there faster than the blink of an eye.  Immediately upon expiration of your body, your living soul will realize its eternal mistake.  You will then become a believer.

Everyone will be a believer in the simple gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ sooner or later.

Romans 14:11

For it is written,

As I live, saith the Lord,

every knee shall bow to me,

and every tongue shall confess to God.

I pray sooner

and in the right place

for you and yours.

John 10:9

I am the door:

by me if any man enter in,

he shall be saved,
